UFC 216 will be topped by the lightweight interim title bout featuring longtime division contender Tony Ferguson opposite streaking 155-pound up-and-comer Kevin Lee in a five-round showdown inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., Oct. 7, 2017.
To help fans get amped for next month’s pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza, while also showcasing what Lee is capable of inside the cage, the promotion recently released “The Motown Phenom’s” dominant win over Jake Matthews from last summer, part of his five-fight winning streak that dates back to April 2016.
The winner of Ferguson vs. Lee is expected to face off against current division champion Conor McGregor now that “Notorious” is done playing pugilist with Floyd Mayweather Jr. But as far as Lee is concerned, his fight against “El Cucuy” is for the real 155-pound strap.
