Check out the fifth and final episode of Embedded for UFC 216.
UFC 216 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
This episode starts with Kevin Lee’s weight cut, which turned out to be more dramatic than expected. Then we’re off to Tony Ferguson’s room, where he and his team are playing the UFC video game. He’s been wearing his handwraps all day. They get him on a scale, and he’s on point.
Demetrious Johnson is in the bath, doing his own cut, while Ray Borg is at the Performance Institute doing it.
We move onto the next day for the legit weigh-ins. Derrick Lewis, Fabricio Werdum, Johnson, Borg, and Ferguson all make weight. Then comes Lee, right at the last second. He comes in at 156, one pound over, and looks at the scale like it’s broken. NSAC chief Bob Bennett says that he can have another hour, and he makes it the second time at 154.5. He looks very drawn out though. He says it’s all part of the show. Ferguson said he knew he’d make it.
Ceremonial weigh-in time. Johnson and Borg do a little trash-talking, with Johnson telling Borg to ask his teammate John Dodson how fighting Mighty Mouse worked out for him. Lee does some trash-talking of his own to Ferguson, but Tony isn’t having any of it.
The fights are tonight! Tune in on PPV!
