It’s fight day for one of the most highly anticipated matchups in combat sports history as UFC 229 goes down tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the closing betting odds.
The big-draw main event will be for the undisputed lightweight strap as the champ Khabib Nurmagomedov (-175) is favored to retain his title against the iconic former champion Conor McGregor (+165). Khabib started out his UFC 229 betting life as a -160 favorite to McGregor’s underdog tag of +120, and boy has there been some movement.
Early play caused Nurmagomedov’s line to drop down to around the -185 mark and McGregor’s line rise to around +155. Then, a large influx of McGregor wagers came pouring in during fight week, shrinking the the moneylines for both athletes. Since the influx, even more coin has come in for Nurmagomedov, sending his line back out to around -175 where it now resides, leaving McGregor with a thicker dog tag of +165.

In the co-main event, we have former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson making his return to competition following an unfortunate injury that occurred earlier in the year. Despite returning from a gruesome hiccup, Ferguson still clocks in as a heavy betting favorite at around -335. The man standing across from him, former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis, will be sporting a rather hefty underdog line at +305. Considering the quick return to action for Ferguson, Pettis just might be a live dog here!
