The UFC Argentina main event just saw the #10 ranked welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio knock out the #8 ranked Neil Magny in the fourth round after battering his leg across the previous rounds.
Ponzinibbio pressured Magny back to the fence right away to start the fight. Magny began blinking his eye and wiping at it as he tried to deal with the big punches of his opponent. Magny was rendered defensive for the bulk of the first round, allowing Ponzinibbio to run away with it on the scorecards.
Ponzinibbio dropped Magny with a leg kick to start the second round, but allowed his opponent to return to his feet just so that he could kick it out again. Magny tried to get his jab going, but the power of Ponzinibbio kept backing him up. The referee brought in the doctor to check a cut above the eye of Ponzinibbio, but he’s allowed to fight on. Magny was dropped by another leg kick and was in full on survival mode.
Magny came out in round three with a sense of urgency, letting his hands go, until a heavy leg kick from Ponzinibbio slowed down his output. Another leg kick had Magny stationary against the fence, back in survival mode.
A massive leg kick from Ponzinibbio dropped Magny within the first 30 seconds of round four. Ponzinibbio let him up and dropped him again with yet another leg kick. It was getting pretty ridiculous. Ponzinibbio eventually came up with a hefty right hand that dropped Magny and made him do a faceplant.
