Following Cormier’s callout of Manuwa at UFC 210, it didn’t take long for the two light heavyweights to start a fight on Twitter.

Jimi Manuwa didn’t have a chance to reply when Daniel Cormier called him out at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York at last Saturday’s UFC 210 pay-per-view, but the Brit made his feelings known on social media.

Cormier, who defended his light heavyweight title against Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson in the main event, told Manuwa in the post-fight interview that he should sit down and know his place in the division.

Manuwa, 37, responded on Twitter and told ‘DC’ — and boxer David Haye — that he’s coming for the title.

It didn’t take long for Cormier to fire back and for both men to trade barbs, with Manuwa telling the champion that he’s too ‘nice’ to play the villain.

Manuwa, who is ranked at No. 3 in the UFC’s desolate light heavyweight division, last fought in his backyard of London, England at UFC Fight Night 107, crumpling Corey Anderson with a devastating left hook in the first round. The British standout also holds a one-punch knockout over Ovince Saint Preux, finishing OSP at Manchester’s UFC 204 PPV in October.

The former 205 lbs. kingpin, Jon Jones, is currently serving a one-year suspension for a failed drug test and could return to the Octagon as early as July. Given Jones’ former standing in the division and his win over Cormier, the pound-for-pound talent could get the title shot over Manuwa or face ‘Poster Boy’ for the interim belt.
