Tatiana Suarez improved to 6-0 in her young MMA career, as The Ultimate Fighter season 23 winner took down and submitted Mexico’s Alexa Grasso via rear-naked choke in the UFC Fight Night: Chile co-main event on Saturday night. Suarez has had trouble staying healthy and keeping an active schedule since winning TUF in 2016, but from what she’s shown so far, she looks to be another quality prospect in the women’s strawweight division.
Watch the highlights in the video below, accompanied with Tim Burke’s play-by-play of what was a relatively short fight:
Round 1 – Measured start. A few kicks but nothing on them. Suarez clinches and gets Grasso down. She’s back up fairly quickly though. Another takedown, but only to her butt. Now she drags her down flat, but Grasso threatens with her legs. Suarez transitions and lands punches from side. She takes the back, sinks hooks, and sinks the choke. That was quick.
