community news, UFC Dublin Gets Second Co Main Event Reboot in a Week

It’s been a bit of a rough week for the UFC Dublin fight card. The card was first rocked by an injury, which led to a new co-main event. Then, the new co-main event was supplanted 24 hours later with a different co-main event.

UFC Fight Night 76, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 24, in Dublin, features a main event pitting Dustin Poirier against home country favorite Joseph Duffy. It was originally slated to feature a heavyweight co-main event pitting Stipe Miocic vs. Ben Rothwell.

Miocic vs. Rothwell was scrapped when Miocic fell out of the fight due to injury. UFC officials tried to find a replacement, but was unable to secure a suitable opponent for Rothwell, so they removed him from the card.

Shortly thereafter, a lower card bout between Norman Parke and Reza Madadi was slotted in as the new co-main event. But that fight didn’t last in the slot either, as UFC president Dana White on Thursday shifted gears again.
