UFC Fight Night 103 fighter payouts for the athletes who competed at the “Rodriguez vs. Penn”-led FOX Sports 1 event this past weekend (Sun., Jan. 15, 2017) inside Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Ariz., were released recently by Arizona Boxing & Mixed Martial Arts Commission.
The highest bread winner of the night was B.J. Penn, who earned $150,000 for his much-anticipated return to action after 2.5 years a way from the sport to face Yair Rodriguez in the headlining bout. But, it was Rodriguez who proved the victor, taking out “The Prodigy” in the second round via technical knockout after brutalizing the Hawaiian legend for the entire first round thanks to an impeccable performance (see it). For his efforts, “El Pantera” banked a cool $100,000, which included a $50,000 win bonus.
Joe Lauzon was the second highest earner, banking $116,000 ($58,000 win bonus) after narrowly edging out Marcin Held in what proved to be a controversial decision (scorecards here) with which he didn’t agree.
That’s not all.
