UFC Fight Night 104: Angela Hill says Joanna Jedrzejczyk is an ‘easier fight’ than Jessica Andrade

Angela Hill will make her return to the Octagon at this weekend’s (Sat., Feb. 4, 2017) UFC Fight Night 104 event in Houston, Texas, as she gears up to face Jessica Andrade inside Toyota Center.

Full details here.

Should she pull out the win, “Overkill” already has her sights set on the title, as she plans on calling out current strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Getting there, however, will be a tougher battle, as Angela declared on The MMA Hour that her fight against Andrade is actually a stiffer test than facing the champion.

She explains why:

“I’m going to call her out. I’m totally going to call her out. I feel like for me Joanna is an easier fight just because she is not going to go for takedowns, at least not at first. That’s not going to be her plan A. Everyone that I have fought since my first fight, their plan A is to take me down and submit me. So it’s going be a relief for me because I will be able to chill, open up my striking and be able to do what I am used to doing as opposed to hitting, defending, then hitting and moving. I can actually unleash on her, at least once we get comfortable. So I definitely feel Joanna is an easier fight that Andrade is for me. I mean, that’s me.”

“Overkill” scored a United States Anti Doping (USADA) exemption that allowed her to skip the four-month advanced notice required in order to compete inside the Octagon, which prevented her from coming back at UFC 207 back in December.

Hill has won four straight under the Invicta FC banner since getting released by UFC back in 2015, capturing the promotion’s 125-pound strap along the way.

Joanna, meanwhile, hasn’t tasted defeat in her pro mixed martial arts (MMA) career, amassing a mint 13-0 record, including winning seven inside the Octagon, five of them being title fights.

Doing it all via her striking, Joanna may find a willing partner that wants to stand and bang in Angela; but “Overkill” has a very tough Brazilian brawler in front of her ready to derail her UFC championship dreams.
