Dennis Bermudez may have a one of the biggest fights of his career lined up at this weekend’s (Sat., Feb 4, 2017) UFC Fight Night 104 event against Chan Sung Jung in Houston, Texas, but that didn’t stop him from taking time out to moonlight as a reporter.
“The Menace,” mic in hand, hit the opening night festivities of Super Bowl 51 — slated to go down on Sunday (Feb 5, 2017) at NRG Stadium, also in Houston — to interview players from both the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons at the Super Bowl media day.
And I have to admit, Bermudez didn’t do too bad, as the scrappy brawler let his personality shine through while mingling with some of the best athletes in the world, including Matt Ryan and Tom Brady, among others.
The highlight for me, though, was Cooper Manning clowning “The Menace” and mistaking him for a member of “Menudo,” a popular Puerto Rican boy band which had massive success in the 80’s.
Bermudez will look to earn his third straight win when he collides with “Korean Zombie.” And who knows, we may even see “The Menace” put on his media hat one more time for the big game on Sunday once his combat sports duties are fulfilled.
