There was a changing of the guard in the lightweight division at UFC Fight Night 90 when former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez took the crown from Rafael dos Anjos in the main event last Thursday night. Yet, it was the former champ who made the most money, not merely in that fight, but on the card with a total of $310,000. Even if dos Anjos had won, he was not scheduled to win a bonus.
Alvarez and Roy Nelson were the only other fighters on the card who were past the six-figure mark.
The new lightweight champion also took home an additional $50,000 in performance bonus money as did Pedro Munhoz. Alan Jouban and Belal Muhammad also earned $50,000 for their Fight of the Night.
UFC Fight Night 90 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and aired on Fight Pass.
