The Ultimate Fighting Championship is not only putting on what could be its biggest event ever in UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on Saturday, but it has also put together the biggest week of promotion in the company’s history.
The first in a tripleheader of events is now set with Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 90 weigh-in making Thursday night’s fights official.
Weighing in at the T-Mobile Arena, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos easily made weight, setting up the next defense of his title, which will take place against former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez in the UFC Fight Night 90 main event.
There was little to worry about for the co-main event, as heavyweights Roy Nelson and Derrick Lewis merely had to be below the 266-pound allowance for their division. Both made the weight, although Lewis pushed it about as close as you can get, setting up a battle between big men that always promise power heavy striking.
