A Heavyweight bout between two of the most-seasoned veterans in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 265-pound division will headline UFC Fight Night 93 this weekend (Sat., Sept. 3, 2016) in Hamburg, Germany, as former champions Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett duke it out on UFC Fight Pass (more details here). While it’s a bout most fight fans would have liked to see back in the day when each respective combatant was in his prime, its still a pivotal bout in a division where a fighter is perhaps two or three impressive wins away from a title shot.
And even though Arlovski is coming off two straight defeats to Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, Barnett knows not to take “The Pitbull” lightly since his current situation — and mood — may be that of a cornered animal who is more dangerous and willing to do anything to fight his way out of a jam.

“He’s done so much over so long of a career and everybody has witnessed his talent time and again. But, I’d like to think that whatever he possess now is not going to be good enough. And to say that whatever he had then was never going to be good enough. But, I have to go out there and implement my will upon him. But, knowing how tough Andrei Arlovski is meant that I had to train incredibly hard, I had to keep a lot of things in mind while I was training to perfect my approach for this fight.
