Ben Nguyen has taken a big leap up the flyweight rankings in this week’s update.
The flyweight division in the UFC is very much in flux right now. The battle between 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson and the UFC has brought rumors to the surface that the division might just get closed down altogether. But for now, guys are still fighting to earn their way to a title shot. And at UFC Auckland last weekend, a new contender made himself known.
Despite that preamble, let’s be clear here – UFC Auckland was not a very relevant event. Only three divisions saw any rankings movement at all, and one of them didn’t even seem to be related to the event at all.
But hey, there’s a post to write, so let’s get it it.
