Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell has failed to bite his tongue during his current injury layoff. The hulking giant pointed a finger at Cain Velasquez for not wanting to fight at UFC 206 and is now taking shots at current UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Michael Bisping, who have recently been linked to a catchweight superfight. Rothwell, 35, challenged the titleholders to a 2 vs. 1 matchup earlier today (Fri., Jan. 6, 2017) via Twitter.
Ok I’m deadly serious I’ll fight @TWooodley and @bisping at the same time 2on1 and take both your titles. Let’s all make money #ridicules

While Rothwell is most likely taking jabs at the publicized UFC kings, his proclamation gets the combat cranium churning. Would “Big Ben” actually stand a chance against two guys considerably smaller than him? At 5’9″, Woodley would most likely have to leap and swing in order to find Rothwell’s chin. As for Bisping, his point striking would allow Rothwell to hand around more easily in a potential handicap bout.
The mixed martial arts (MMA) world has already seen 5 vs. 5 team fights, so maybe a 2 vs. 1 bout is on the horizon. Just kidding. Rothwell is a very intelligent guy so this should only be taken as a means of staying relevant under public watch early into the new year. But still, the heavyweight would probably put up a good fight.
