Justin Gaethje said he was going to make quick work of James Vick, and he did.
The former WSOF lightweight champion knocked out Vick at the 1:27 mark of the first round of their main event contest at UFC Lincoln in Lincoln, Neb. Gaethje connected with a brutal right hand that sent Vick flying to the canvas.
Gaethje’s win closed an action-packed night of fights that had the MMA community talking. Below is how the pros reacted to the fight results at UFC Lincoln:
Justin Gaethje def. James Vick
Wow! I knew that could happen, it’s a fight. I want expecting it though. Congrats to Gaethje! @JamesVickMMA will be back!

Michael Johnson def. Andre Fili
Wouldn’t want to be a judge for that one … hope my boy @TouchyFili gets the nod.

Cortney Casey def. Angela Hill
I disagree with the judges’ decision on this one, especially the 30-27 for Casey. Very close fight, but Hill took it, in my eyes. Chin up, @AngieOverkill, you’ll be back, badder than ever. #UFCLincoln

Bryan Barberena def. Jake Ellenberger
Class move by Jake Ellenberger laying down the gloves in his home state! I called his early fights in M1, dude is nothing but class and wish him the best in the next chapter of his life.

Deiveson Figueiredo def. John Moraga
— Matt Schnell (@DANGER_Caged) August 26, 2018
Eryk Anders def. Tim Williams
And the FG conversion is good!!! Damn! That was fucking nasty! Imagine if he was shooting into that kick #UFCLincoln

Loads of debates on the new and old rules and “if” the hand was down would it be legal or illegal. I see a lot saying legal but I disagree. If he is clearly posting on it to help get up then it’s illegal, i think. Usually @marcgoddard_uk is good at clearly this stuff up
