Alexander Volkov stopped Fabricio Werdum via strikes in the 4th round of the UFC London main event.

The top of the UFC London billing saw the UFC’s #7 heavyweight Alexander Volkov TKO the #3 Fabricio Werdum the fourth round. Werdum got an immediate takedown, but Volkov was able to make it back to his feet in order to dish out a bit of damage. By the third round, Werdum’s right eye had some significant swelling going on, but it didn’t seem to stop the former champ for continuing his attempts to get the fight to the ground, even if by pulling guard. Werdum’s right eye was seriously swollen, so much so that the former champ struggled to even keep his eye lids separated.

In the fourth frame, Werdum bit down on his mouthpiece and started trading in the pocket, but Volkov’s power proved to be too much, and the Russian dropped the former heavyweight king with a set of uppercuts. A couple of academic ground strikes later and Volkov scored the biggest win of his career.
