The UFC is dipping their toe into the Russian market for the very first time with UFC Moscow, which takes place on Fight Pass early Saturday morning in the US. So, let’s take a gander at the betting odds as the UFC attempts to break in to a new market.
The top of the billing has longtime MMA veteran Mark Hunt (-150) favored over the sneaky submission artist Aleksei Oleinik (+140). Hunt has seen underdog odds at some point in his past four fights. In fact, him opening up with a moneyline of -215 is the most favored he has been since he fought Antonio Silva at UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm back in 2015. Oleinik has seen underdog odds in four out of his seven UFC appearances, and has made good on three of those. Out of the three times Oleinik has been favored, he got the win in two of them.
In the UFC Moscow co-main event, 25-5 Russo-Ukranian Nikita Krylov makes his promotional return in the favored role. He clocks in with a moneyline of -125 to the company’s #4 light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz, who currently sits with a dog tag of +155. There has been a bit of shifting with the co-main event line, as Blachowicz originally opened up at -130, with Krylov starting out at -110. The betting public likes them some Krylov.
Otherwise, UFC Moscow is chalked full of heavy betting favorites and massive underdogs. Just take a look at these super-wide lines:
- (-825) Peter Yan vs. Jin Soo Son (+650): Bantamweight
- (-475) Alexey Kunchenko vs. Thiago Alves (+420): Lightweight
- (-710) Rustam Khabilov vs. Kajan Johnson (+575): Lightweight
- (-475) Mairbek Taisumov vs. Desmond Green (+420): Lightweight
- (-400) Magomed Ankalaev vs. Marcin Prachino (+355): Light Heavyweight
- (-560) Ramazan Emeev vs. Stefan Sekulic (+475): Welterweight
- (-500) Merab Dvalishvili vs. Terrion Ware (+435): Bantamweight
The UFC Moscow main card will air live on Fight Pass at 2:00 P.M. ET with the prelims starting at 10:45 A.M. ET in the same location.
