UFC on FOX 21 just got a little thinner. Promotional newcomer Adam Hunter was yanked off tomorrow’s (Sat., Aug. 27, 2016) undercard due to a potential United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) violation, per a report by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) early Friday (h/t MMA Fighting).

Hunter, 32, was scheduled to fight fellow UFC newcomer Ryan Janes on the Fight Pass portion of UFC on FOX 21. But according to UFC, Hunter failed an out-of-competition USADA test dating back to Aug. 11. As usual, USADA has yet to release information pertaining to the substance(s) that landed Hunter in the doghouse.

While this is devastating news for Hunter, who managed to lock down six-straight knockout victories at 185 pounds before signing on with UFC, it’s even more crushing for Janes, who will now have his own Octagon debut cancelled by the actions of another fighter. Janes, a Canadian submission specialist, was looking to impress in front of his home crowd. If Hunter’s failed test does in fact stick, it’s safe to say the Middleweight brawler may never get another chance to fight in UFC.

UFC on FOX 21 will take place from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and will feature a Welterweight main event between title contenders Demian Maia and Carlos Condit.
