Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the FOX network this Saturday night (July 23, 2016) for its “Holm vs. Shevchenko” mixed martial arts (MMA) event inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois, with a five-round bantamweight headliner that may actually go all five rounds.
Look on the bright side, the card starts at 8 p.m. ET.
Headlining this weekend’s big shebang is former 135-pound titleholder Holly Holm, who started the game of bantamweight hot potato that sent the division strap to Miesha Tate and then Amanda Nunes. Waiting for “The Preacher’s Daughter,” who could be one win away from another crack at the crown, is Valentina Shevchenko.

In the FOX-televised co-main event, Gilbert Melendez returns from his drug-test suspension to throw hands with dynamic lightweight striker Edson Barboza, who knows a thing or two about breaking ex-champions. A bunch of other people are fighting too, and I’ll be forced to talk about them.
But before we get to the main card, check out what our man with the “Prelims” plan, Patty Stumberg, had to say about the FOX and UFC Fight Pass preliminary offerings here and here. Odds and betting lines for UFC on FOX 20 can be located here.
Still with me? Good, let’s get to work.

Then get dominated on the ground by Miesha Tate.
Soon to be 35, “The Preacher’s Daughter” is not going to transmogrify into a ground specialist and will ….View full article
