Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took a break from the pay-per-view (PPV) business and returned to free TV last night, as UFC on FOX 21 went down from inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The man event saw Demian Maia take it to Carlos Condit, choking him out early in the first round thanks to his world class jiu-jitsu skills that gave “The Natural Born Killer” no choice but to tap if he didn’t want to take a nap (see it again here).

In the co-headlining act, Anthony Pettis also showed off his submission skills, as he submitted Charles Oliveira in round three with a slick guillotine choke (watch it).

Biggest Winner: Demian Maia

Maia not only picked up his sixth straight win in the welterweight division, but he did it against one of the best the weight class has ever seen. The win pretty much erased any question as to who should get next dibs at the division strap (after Stephen Thompson) as Maia made it look easy against “The Natural Born Killer” with his air-tight rear-naked choke.

On top of that, he backed up his words that though some may not think he’s the not the most “exciting” fighter on the roster, he gets the job done with his dominant ground game.
