“It was an amazing fight between Paige and Rose, and a difficult fight for Paige VanZant. So Rose did well. She didn’t fight that much after TUF but she showed that she’s game. And Paige VanZant, she’s still young, but she’s very talented and she’s a bad ass. She’s got the character. She still must learn a lot, but she’s a very good fight. In the future for sure she will become a UFC champion.”
Her path may have been derailed by Rose Namajunas (see it), but Paige VanZant still has what it take to eventually become an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion. That’s according to UFC Strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who stated during a recent interview (via MMA Fighting) that “12 Gauge” will eventually hold a title for the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion. Just not anytime soon, as “JJ” has a firm grasp on the strap at the moment with back-to-back impressive title defenses. Joanna will next face Claudia Gadelha in 2016, however, there are rumblings that the two ladies are scheduled to be opposing coaches on the next installment of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). Which means their much-anticipated title fight could be delayed a while.
