Stay classy. We can all agree that no one is ever 100-percent happy once Monday rolls around and the new Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings are revealed (see them here).
Whether it’s an actual fighter lobbying for a higher spot, or a rabid fan who is doing it for them, the topic of who deserves to be where has been — and will continue to be — heavily debated.
UFC president Dana White once declared he would clean up the voting panel and hire “ethical guys” to run the show. And judging by the recent Twitter spat between one panel member and a few high-profile UFC fighters, it seems White hasn’t gotten around to it.
As you can see in the images below (via Bloody Elbow), UFC ranking panelist Justin Mayer took it upon himself to blast Tyron Woodley for thinking he deserves a shot at the welterweight title without having beaten Johny Hendricks (see why here).
And “The Chosen One” wasn’t the only one in Mayer’s cross hairs.
That prompted Ben Rothwell to question Mayer’s lack of integrity, and UFC Vice President of Public Relations, Dave Sholler, reassured “Big Ben” the promotion would be looking into the matter.
