Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making some late changes to its FOX Sports 1 fight card for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 25 Finale, scheduled for Fri., July 7, 2017 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s because strawweight newcomer Amanda Ribas was flagged for a potential doping violation and yanked from her 115-pound showdown against Juliana Lima, who is expected to remain in the “Sin City” line up.
The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Amanda Ribas of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 7, 2017. Ribas was scheduled to compete at the Ultimate Fighter Finale in Las Vegas on July 7, 2017. Because of her potential anti-doping violation and the proximity to that event, Ribas has been removed from the card and the UFC is currently seeking a replacement.
Not a good look.
The 23-year-old Ribas (6-1) cut her teeth on the Brazilian circuit, racking up wins in both Jungle Fight and Pentagon Combat. The substance that felled the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt was not disclosed.
TUF 25 Finale will be headlined by the lightweight showdown pitting Michael Johnson against Justin Gaethje, as well as the welterweight finale between the top two contestants from the FOX Sports 1 reality show.
