Tommy Hayden returned to the cage after a two-year absence at Full Metal Dojo 9 and took just over two minutes to stop Arben Escayo with ground and pound. The Filipino was a late replacement and was completely outclassed by the UFC veteran.
The event took place at the Insanity Nightclub in Bangkok on Saturday night (local time). Hayden’s fight with Escayo was the main attraction. He had initially been slated to face Sandeep Yadav, only for the Indian fighter to pull out shortly after accepting the fight.

Instead, Hayden found himself up against Escayo. He got the fight to the ground very quickly after catching a kick from the Filipino and sweeping out his standing leg. The TUF alumnus followed with a series of soccer kicks and then executed a double-leg takedown.

It was Hayden’s first win since 2011 and took his record to 9-3. He’s based permanently in Thailand and is hoping to compete regularly in 2016.
