Brendan Loughnane put an exclamation point on his return to featherweight when he scored a third-round knockout over Paata Tsxapelia at ACB 75 in Stuttgart on Saturday night.
Thought to be one of the best unsigned featherweights outside of the UFC, the Manchester native moved up to lightweight in his last outing and came up on the wrong side of a split decision against UFC veteran Pat Healy. The loss snapped a four-fight win streak for the Brit.
The All Powers fighter completely outclassed his Cypriot counterpart over the first two rounds on Saturday, but had his whiskers tested late in the second when he got caught with a big right hand.
In between the second and third rounds, Loughnane appeared as though he told his corner that he had broken his arm.
Looking to grapple in the third, the TUF Smashes alum finished the fight when he forced Tsxapelia up against the fence. He landed two knees before he caught Tsxapelia with a head kick that ended the contest.
