More video footage has emerged of Conor McGregor’s wild frenzy at Bellator 187.
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been making the rounds this week, but for all the wrong reasons.
McGregor, who was ringside for the Bellator 187 event in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland, rushed the cage and celebrated with his teammate Charlie Ward before charging at veteran referee Marc Goddard — who he had a previous altercation with at UFC Gdansk — after being told to leave.
McGregor, who had no right to storm the cage while John Redmond was still recovering from a knockout, then slapped an official in the face after trying to jump the cage again.
After his wild frenzy inside Dublin’s 3Arena, McGregor continued to celebrate outside and called Goddard a ‘rat’.
“He was still trying to say, ‘keep going,’ and it’s that same referee (Marc Goddard) who I lost me head with (at UFC Gdansk). I said, ‘It’s you, you rat.’ He nearly f—ng crapped his jocks.”
McGregor, 29, has always been known for his wild antics but the Irishman crossed the line at Bellator 187 and could face serious repercussions for his behavior.
‘The Notorious’ has teased at returning to the UFC to defend his lightweight title against newly-crowned interim champ Tony Ferguson, but Friday night’s controversy could stall his plans.
