“I just went out there and do what I usually do, which is fight my ass off. I came up short on the judges’ scorecards unfortunately, but, for me it’s not all about winning and losing. I am disappointed, but, I got to fight, pushed myself as hard as I can, leave it all out there and to me, that’s a victory.”
Carlos Condit came ever-so close to capturing the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title at last night’s (Sat., Jan. 2, 2016) UFC 195 pay-per-view (PPV) event. Unfortunately, the judges’ felt division champion, Robbie Lawler, had done enough to retain his title after five rounds on intense action. And though he rightfully upset at the outcome, Condit won’t hang his head low, as he admitted to UFC immediately after his loss that he left everything out in the cage. When asked if he’d accept an immediate rematch against “Ruthless” if the situation came up, “The Natural Born Killer” wasn’t quick to say yes, as he reiterated that retirement was very much a possibility for him next.
