Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s return to action against Albania’s Sefer Seferi was awful. Straight-up terrible viewing. Fury came in at 276 pounds, while the career cruiserweight was a measly 210. The fight itself saw Fury look extremely rusty and slow, but still better than Seferi. Despite little damage inflicted on him, Seferi quit after four rounds, much to the annoyance of the fans at Manchester Arena.
If you want to see something funny from an otherwise unwatchable mess, towards the end of round two, a fight broke out in the stands, and Fury momentarily stopped boxing to watch that instead. I’m not joking.
The great Caposa has you covered for what effectively amounted to the most entertaining 25 seconds of this 12-minute bout.
As a bonus, here’s a fan’s on-site filming of the fight in the crowd.
This was Fury’s first appearance in the ring since the decision win over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. His next booking is set for August 18th, against an opponent to be determined. Needless to say, he’s a very long way away from the top of the heavyweight division right now, and don’t be surprised if he keeps fighting easy opposition until he shakes the rust off.
