Kneel before Zod Fedor!
Bellator MMA, which is making all sorts of interesting headlines on this fine Thursday, recently published a behind-the-scenes video of its latest and greatest acquisition, former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko.
The partnership reunites the Stary Oskol native with former Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, who did business with “The Last Emperor” back when M-1 Global and The Fink were still a thing.
Emelianenko (36-4, 1 NC) — who didn’t die — will headline the Bellator 172 mixed martial arts (MMA) event opposite Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) import Matt Mitrione on Sat., Feb. 18, 2017, inside SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., live on Spike TV.
More on that upcoming showdown here.
Speaking of UFC veterans, the above video catches a brief glimpse of former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre getting on his knees to honor Emelianenko, still widely considered to be one of the finest heavyweight fighters in history.
