We may never get the chance to see them square off inside the Octagon, but former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, and ex-middleweight kingpin, Anderson Silva, gave fight fans a glimpse of what it would be like to see them go toe-to-toe.
“Bones” and “Spider” got involved in what can best be described as short simulation of a sparring session on the streets on New York over the weekend, which Jones posted to his Twitter account.
A fight between the two talented fighters has long been at the top of everyone’s list, as far as fantasy bouts are concerned. But the two never crossed paths, mainly because they were too busy cracking heads in separate weight classes.
And after both suffered personal setbacks — Jones with his legal issues and Silva with his failed drug tests — a showdown between them slipped further and further away.
But now that both men are gearing up to make returns in 2016, anyone think we’ll get to see them finally throw down for real inside the eight-walled cage?
