Chael Sonnen is not a name you speak in the streets of Brazil. For many different reasons, specifically his rivalry with Anderson Silva and ability to verbally destruct Brazilian fighters from the inside out, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight title contender is a wanted man south of the border.
Heck, Sonnen proclaimed that Ronaldo Souza should be removed from the UFC rankings for not filling in to fight Luke Rockhold at UFC 199.
But in even more controversial news, Sonnen recently stated that he convinced Wanderlei Silva to coach the third season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil by showing him his bank account. The two hot heads would go on to brawl on set in one of the most memorable moments in TUF history.
As you could have guessed, “The Axe Murderer” did not take kindly to Sonnen’s proclamation about saving the show. The mixed martial arts (MMA) legend recently posted the following in video form to his Facebook page in response to Sonnen’s remarks (transcribed by MMA Fighting).
“There was a report this week about my archrival Sonnen telling stories from TUF, telling lies. He’s unbelievable. He comes here and tells a story that didn’t happen. When the show started, my first act was to tell him ‘turn to the camera and apologize for everything you said about this country or I won’t work with you’. And he said ‘I won’t apologize, I really think this is a sh—y country, and I won’t apologize.
