There’s a glimmer of hope for the former Pride FC star and his desire to return to mixed martial arts (MMA).
Wanderlei Silva hasn’t done a whole lot of winning lately, but this is about as good of news as “The Axe Murderer” can get.
The former Pride FC Middleweight champion and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) outcast has lambasted his previous employer for shady pay practices only after he retired and was subsequently kicked to the curb for a lifetime following his refusal to take a pre-fight drug test from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) in May 2014.
But,then the mixed martial arts (MMA) gods reconsidered and NSAC was ordered by a Nevada district court judge to hold another disciplinary meeting back in May 2015. That encounter will take place later this month at the commission’s next sitdown on Oct. 29, 2015, according to MMA Fighting (h/t MMAjunkie).
According to judge Kerry Earley, NSAC essentially overstepped its bounds with the penalty it imposed upon Silva, who was not yet licensed to fight in “Sin City” at the time despite being slotted to go up against long-time nemesis Chael Sonnen at UFC ….View original article
