Innocent people do not admit fault.
Perhaps that’s why Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender Yoel Romero was not wooed by a nine-month suspension, something United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) cooked up and presented “Soldier of God” in the wake of his positive drug test.
Instead, Romero opted for arbitration and could face up to two years on the bench, according to MMA Fighting.
While the actual substance that caused the Cuban to piss dirty has yet to be revealed, Team Romero insists a tainted dietary substance was to blame and there was never any intention on gaining a competitive edge heading into his Ronaldo Souza fight at UFC 194.
A victory that was expected to vault him into a middleweight title shot against Luke Rockhold.
A date for the upcoming arbitration is not official at this time; however, you can expect that to be revealed in the coming weeks, if not days.
